The Mayan Calendar: Up Front and Personal:
There are times when it is just LUCK to be in the right place and time, and living in Encinitas in 2007 is one such time. A few weekends ago, we had had a free concert in the Self-Realization Fellowship gardens, with a 50 piece orchestra, 4 opera singers, food, drink and the most amazing warm weather. This was a celebration of peace after 9/11 and given at no charge to those attending. We toured the Hermitage of Yogananda and basked in the palpable love of the retreat gardens and buildings. How lucky I felt to be embraced in this spiritual cloud of love. It was like an Ashram from India transplanted in the West! I know folks, I have been to an Ashram in India. Fortunately, there is no need to travel so far... it is all here!
It is such a privilege to live here just for that, but this weekend, Barbara Hand Clow came with her husband Gerry. They are formerly book editors at Bear and Company, and she is the author of so many books including The Pleiadian Agenda, Signet of Atlantis, The Liquid Light of Sex, Alchemy of Nine Dimensions, and lately The Mayan Code. They visited Encinitas, our blessed vortex, this weekend for a Nine-dimensional "activation" and left an indelible mark on everyone attending.
Barbara Hand Clow has been working to unravel the mystery of Earth history through her regressions into her past lives. Lately she has been energized and inspired by Carl J. Calleman's book The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness, for in this work she has found a clue to what the calendar, the Tzolkin, tells us about our evolution and past. It is remarkable work. It was brought alive by her physical presence and her intensity of focus. There are no breaks for snacks or bathroom visits. Once she stands up it is a three hour intensive of highly original insights into where we are and who we are.
Carl Calleman is an author that she reviewed for publication some years back. She discovered through his work that the Mayan dates on a Stele (stone post) in Coba, one of the Mayan temples, closely matched the charts of scientific dating of initial phenomena (see below).
The calendar (Tzolkin) appeared to have begun 16.4 billion years ago with the Big Bang and cellular beginnings. (One of the key factors of Mayan culture is time is measured in multiples of 20 and 13- our newsletter comes out every 13 days for this reason; multiply the two and it equals 260, the exact number of days of gestation of human foetus; and may be linked to one rotation of Venus- one Venutian day [now 243 of our days]. That is my speculation. )
Divide 16.4 billion by 20; ; so you get 820 million years; the first animals arrived 850 million years ago. Divide that number by 20 and you get 41 million years; you guessed it, start of the primates. Divide again by 20 and it is 2 million years when humans first appear. Divide again by 20 and it is the first spoken language (102,000 years). Keep dividing these numbers and each indicates a key acceleration in evolution such as writing and industrialism and more recently 1999, the explosion of the world wide web and interconnectivity through technology.
